Malaysia Omicron travel restrictions and requirements

Entry Permission: Students who require a Single-Entry Visa (SEV) to enter Malaysia are required to submit their SEV application to the nearest Malaysian Mission office. Entry Permission: Passengers are not permitted to enter Malaysia. This does not apply to: Passengers who are spouses or children of a national or permanent resident of Malaysia, provided holding a long term visit pass; Passengers holding a letter of approval to enter issued by the Director General of Immigration (Ketua Pengarah Immigration) or another appropriate ministry; Employment Pass Category I (EP I) or Residence Pass-Talent (RP-T) holders, including dependents and domestic helpers. Passengers arriving at Langkawi International Airport (LGK) under the Langkawi International Travel Bubble (LITB). These passengers must use Travel Agencies licensed by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC), and must stay in Langkawi for at least 3 days. Entry Permission: Passengers are not permitted to enter Malaysia if they have been in Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, or Zimbabwe in the past 14 days. Test: Passengers must hold a negative PCR test result obtained within 2 days prior to departure. Test on Arrival: Passengers will be subject to Covid-19 testing on arrival. Test on Arrival: Passengers will be subject to Rapid Antigen Testing after arrival. All test results must be uploaded to the MySejahtera app. Authorisation: Passengers must register with MySejahtera and have downloaded the app onto their phone prior to arrival. This does not apply to: Passengers who are spouses or children of a national or permanent resident of Malaysia, provided holding a long term visit pass; Passengers in transit, provided they are not nationals of India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan or Nepal; or Passengers holding a letter of approval to enter issued by the Director General of Immigration (Ketua Pengarah Immigration) or another appropriate ministry. Quarantine on Arrival: Unvaccinated passengers: 10 days on arrival in a designated hotel at the passengers' own expense. Passengers must show proof of having prepaid at MySafeTravel. The quarantine period may be extended to 21 days. Passengers must also wear a surveillance wristband given by the Authorized Officer during the observation and surveillance period. Vaccinated passengers: 7 days at home. Passengers must be fully vaccinated passengers with either 2 doses of a double-dose vaccine at least 14 days prior to travel or 1 dose of a single-dose vaccine at least 28 days prior to travel. These passengers may complete a Home Quarantine Application (HQA) 7 to 10 days prior to arrival to apply to quarantine at home.
